A Class 6 licence allows drivers to operate a motorcycle or scooter/moped.

With a Class 6 learner licence drivers can operate a motorcycle or scooter/moped between the hours of 5am and 10pm, but must not carry passengers.
With a Class 6 restricted licence drivers can operate a motorcycle or moped. However, the same restrictions of the Class 6 learner licence apply: drivers must not drive between the hours of 5am and 10pm and must not carry passengers.
Drivers must have had their learner licence for at least six months before applying for their restricted.
With a Class 6 full licence, drivers can carry passengers and drive their motorcycle or moped without curfew.
Drivers must have had their Class 6 restricted licence for at least eighteen months before applying for their Class 6 full licence, or twelve months if they have completed an approved competency-based training assessment.

Motorcycle Learn to Ride & Basic Handling
The Learn to Ride motorcycle course is for beginners with no experience. At the end of the course you will be able to move off, ride in both straight lines and around defined curves, and stop.
The Basic Handling Skills course is compulsory to complete before you can get your motorcycle licence (Class 6). Over two hours, this course teaches you the skills you need to confidently pass the basic handling skills test at the end of the course.
