Infrastructure Skills Centre held at Manfeild and NDTC

This month we saw the conclusion of a successful pilot programme of ‘Infrastructure Skills Centre’ The 2nd pilot programme led by Fulton Hogan in conjunction with the Ministry of Social Development and Civil Contractors New Zealand and civil industry sector partners.

This was the 2nd pilot of this industry initiative the first being was run out of Christchurch.

The opportunity to have the preselected trainees based at our facility in Feilding was invaluable for the trainees but also the teams at NDTC and Manfeild.

NDTC a purpose-built facility made possible through funding from the Provincial Growth Fund became fully operational in April this year.

The centre which was developed to support multiple industry sectors in bridging the licensing and skills gap in the region was excited to be selected as the site to host the programme.

This programme enabled NDTC to fully test its facilities over an extended period whilst giving students exposure to real world practical training and projects during their time on site.

The project has left a lasting impression on our facility, and we look forward to welcoming this and similar initiatives back to NDTC in 2022.  A big thank you to Alena and John from Fulton Hogan who led the project. https://civilcontractors.co.nz/Infrastructure-Skills-Centre-launches-first-Manawat-course/10912-40c73f20-a55c-416b-861b-877c835fbaf6/
